The Ithaca Farmer's Market is located on the Cayuga Lake Inlet, in the "heart of the Fingerlakes"

At the Ithaca Farmers' Market...

I demonstrate woodcarving every summer Saturday at the flourishing Ithaca Farmers' Market. It's a Farmers' Market and far more. Although the Market is open May through December, Saturdays and Sundays, I'm usually there from April through September, only on Saturdays, 9 AM to 3 PM.

Here's the link to the video of me making art at the market.

Take a boat tour of the lake, listen to live music, eat exotic food. Plan a trip to the beautiful Fingerlakes area of central New York and visit our market. Utne Reader (fall 2002) noted the market as one of the"sixty best places in America to hang out." http://www.ithacamarket.com

I've been working at the market since 1988. Many people attend this weekly market - in order to socialize, listen to music, eat chili rellenos or Belgian waffles, and buy crafts or garden produce. Tourists come to the market because it has developed a reputation for being a festive weekly event which one would not want to miss.

I really like to carve in public, number one because it helps people to better understand the labor intensive nature of my work, number two because I get to see which of my pieces appeal to people the most, and number three because I would like to encourage more people to carve.
