Folk Art Mary - Carved and Painted Folk Pictures

Email update sent November 30, 2017

I'm hoping you will consider my art in this gift giving time of year.

My studio will be open to walk ins - no need to make an appointment- 11 AM to 3 PM for the next three Saturdays: December 2nd,  9th and 16th. The address is 109 Park Place, Ithaca - my studio is in the garage in back of the house. Remember I have notecards, postcards, prints, and tiles. Feel free to browse or buy.

You are welcome to arrange a studio visit at other times as well. Please call/text 607-592-4900 or email in order to reach me. For those of you who live out of town, my website is always open.

With cold weather closing in, my time at the Ithaca Farmers' Market is done for the year. From now until April I can be found by appointment at my downtown Ithaca studio. Over the winter months I'll be finishing up a number of commissions, painting carvings worked on at the market last summer and starting new work for the next market season.

My deepest and heartfelt thanks to those who stepped up to purchase original work in 2017.

It is this support, in addition to the encouragement of many others, which has kept my work going over the years. Thanks to the following people who made it happen for me as an artist in 2017: Kurt W, Luke B, Gib and Wendy, Scott and Tricia, David L, Betsy and Tom, Sarah and Michael, Mary D, Kathryn M, Kaaron and Randy, Charmaine H, Keith B, Rob K, David and Denise, Moira K, Stephanie and Anne, Eve M, Susanne M, Judy B and the many people who cheered me on this year.

I was surprised and pleased to learn that Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) owned a piece of my work - it sold at an auction of her estate this past fall.

After 44 years of making my carved and painted pictures, artwork keeps flowing out of me. There's never a problem in coming up with ideas. Instead there's just not enough time.

Picture taken about 10 years ago at a late fall Ithaca Farmers' Market, all the pictures shown have been sold.
